RELATIONSHIP THERAPY

Having worked for Relate the national couple organisation for 17 years, I have a wide knowledge and experience of working with couples and the difficulties they sometimes face. People who come for relationship counselling can be part of a couple, single, in a same sex relationship, young or old.

I deal with a variety of relationship issues and I also see families who are struggling with relationship matters. I work by helping you to identify shared relationship goals and explore the kinds of difficulties that get in the way of fulfilling these.

Couples go through many changes together including: living together for the first time, having children, changing jobs and careers, adjusting to their children leaving home, dealing with poor physical and mental health and coming to terms with bereavements

We will work together to look at the values and beliefs you each bring to the relationship and how you can improve your communication and ways of dealing with conflict to create greater intimacy and trust between each other. Counselling can help you to work together in order to build resilience and support for each other.

Relationship counselling may be needed for reasons such as:
